Fruit/fruit juice and fever blisters by: Anonymous
Since I suffer from very frequent out breaks of fever blisters, I began to watch my diet to see if food/drinks could be causing them. I now know that I cannot eat any acidic foods or drink fruit juices. I will have an out-break everytime I do. I have read that there are no scientific tests to prove this, but for me, it is a sure thing. I avoid all fruits and juices because of the lengthy rounds of one fever blister after another for me. I love fruit and fruit juices, but am willing to sacrifice to avoid the painful blisters. It is sad that no doctor or dentist has ever brought this possibility to my attention. My mother and both my sister have always had fever blisters and I believe it is inherited as well. My husband and 2 sons do not ever have them. I steer clear of lip contact whenever I have them for fear that I will transmit the virus to my grand-children as well.
