The Health Benefits of Apple Cider Vinegar are Numerous
The health benefits of apple cider vinegar are numerous… relief from arthritis, for coughs, for IBS; as a purifier and a detoxifier.
It is said that ACV has been used for medicinal purposes for over 10,000 years. The Babylonians first turned wine into vinegar because they believed in it's true healing properties. Hippocrates used vinegar for its antibiotic properties and Samurari warriors believed it gave them strength and vitality.
In the Bible times, vinegar was used to heal wounds as did the soldiers in World War I. During the Civil War the soldiers used vinegar for intestinal problems, pnuemonia and scurvy.
Potassium, an essential mineral, is abundant in apple cider vinegar. Deficiencies of potassium can lead to many complaints such as tooth decay, watery eyes, and sinus trouble, splitting of fingernails and over abundance of mucus.
Potassium is so important in cell growth and to soft tissues much like calcium is for healthy bones and teeth.
Tests have shown where apple cider vinegar has been given to animals which proved to enhance their appearance and stamina. In humans, a few teaspoons of apple cider vinegar with water can possibly help children with slow development to grow. Also, the potassium can help calm excitability and nervousness in children.

Most of us think of the light brown distilled vinegar that we see in the supermarket when we think of apple cider vinegar. But, this is not the one with all the health benefits. The manufacturers filter it to make it more pleasing to eye so, that we will want to buy it.
The vinegar that contains all the health benefits is the raw, unfilterd organic kind. It should be a light brown in color, cloudy with small cobweb looking particles in it. This is called the "Mother", which is what contains all the nutrients and healthy properties.

- Cough- Warm 2 teaspoons of vinegar with 2 teaspoons of honey in a cup of water and drink 3 times a day, especially a bedtime.

Irritable Bowel Syndrome-
-2 teaspoons of the vinegar and 2 teaspoons of honey mixed with a glass of water can be effective treatment. Take before meals to help with digestion. It neutralizes harmful foods that cause problems.

Diarrhea
-Because we know the vinegar helps with digestion and the detoxification of organs, diarrhea can be controlled. Just 1 teaspoon of the vinegar in a glass of water should be taken throughout the day. This will ease the movements while filtering out the toxins.

Arthritis
- Drink a glass of water mixed with 2 teaspoons of honey 3 times a day. For direct relief of arthritis pain soak hands or feet in ¼ cup of the vinegar and 1½ cups of warm water. A cloth can be soaked in the above mixture to wrap affected knees or elbows. Wrap a dry cloth around the wet one to hold in the heat.
