The Wonder of Almonds
Whole almonds are complex natural plant based protein, full of fiber and monosaturated fats (the good fats). They are also rich in vitamins and minerals.
Studies show they contain fatty acids that change in the body to omega-3 oils. Omega-3 helps reduce risks of heart attacks and strokes.
So, what can almonds do for you?
- Significantly reduce “bad” cholesterol (LDL) if they are “dry roasted” or natural without the added oils or salt.
- Fight free radicals in your body while defending cells with the high amount of vitamin E, an antioxidant
- Help reduce risk of colon and rectal cancer with the high amount of calcium, a nutrient.
- The significant amount of dietary fiber that is packed in them have protective effects on colon cancer development. Also, fiber is good for digestion.
- They provide a source of folic acid which may reduce the risk of cervical cancer.
- Eating 10-12 can also help ease the pain of a headache as the equivalent of 2 aspirin.
It is highly recommended that a person add almonds to their diet without cooking them. This way the vitamins and minerals do not get lost in the process.
A Remedy To Remember “A man’s stomach shall be satisfied from the fruit of his mouth; From the produce of his lips he shall be filled.” Proverbs 18:20
